Gifting – top trends this Christmas
By Simon Willies, Commercial Manager, PC World Business
Here at PC World Business, we’re seeing many more companies, of all sizes, using gifting as a means of showing appreciation for their customers and employees at Christmas.
Gifting to key partners and loyal customers is increasingly seen as an essential part of best practice protocol in a competitive marketplace, and can help distinguish your business amongst this competition. Internally, rewarding your employees is an excellent way to make them feel more valued and recognised for their hard work and can help drive loyalty and wellbeing across the company.
Strategies for gifting will vary across businesses, and will largely be dependent on size, customer and employee base and budget. Smaller companies might choose to give tailored gifts, while larger companies may find it easier to buy in bulk.
Whichever strategy you choose, it’s worth starting to think about it now. While Christmas may still seem a while off, the reality is that the earlier you start planning, the easier the process will be. It’s worth setting a budget now too, to ensure you are able to gift all your stakeholders and have time to order these items ahead of the festive season.
This year, we’re seeing a variety of products with great gifting potential, to suit varied budgets and interests. Here are our some of our top trends for Christmas 2016.
The rise of vinyl
Audio purchases are expected to be a huge hit this Christmas, and vinyl in particular is making a massive comeback. The Crosley Cruiser Portable Turntable, with a three speed turntable and a portable briefcase design with built-in speakers, is perfect for music fans, allowing them to enjoy the authentic rich sound of vinyl.
A virtual Christmas
We’re seeing a surge in people buying VR gadgets this year, and these can make a perfect gift for the digital fanatics. The Samsung Gear VR is proving particularly popular, offering users a truly unique experience for immersing themselves in games and film.
The fitness craze
Sales of fitness related products continue to soar and many of these items can be great gifts for the health conscious among your customers or employees. The Fitbit Alta, (a customisable fitness tracker), and the Ninja Nutri Blender, (for nutrient and vitamin drinks), are both top picks this year.
For the big kids
Another hit this Christmas for all Star Wars fans is the Sphero BB-8 – a fun, entertaining remote controlled droid, great for whizzing around the home or office. It even allows users to record and play holographic images from their smartphone.
The iconic Polaroid brand is also back with the Cube+ action camera. A tiny (35mm), stylish, lightweight, weather, splash and shockproof action camera packing an 8megapixel camera for still images and full HD video recording, it’s easy to use and connects effortlessly with any iOS or Android device.
