Customer Behaviour

Customers in New York can now order anything from the McDonald’s menu (excluding ice cream cones) and have it delivered to their homes.

McDonald’s is working with the delivery service Postmates to transport the food in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan. Some of the 88 restaurants involved in the test will offer delivery 24 hours a day.

McDonald’s said a delivery fee would be charged based on the distance traveled by the courier, in addition to a “standard service charge.”

The delivery service is a test that could be expanded to additional cities.

Julia Vander Ploeg, vice president of McDonald’s USA Digital, said: “Our customers continue to tell us that they want their favorites from McDonald’s delivered right to their doorsteps.

“We’ve listened to their feedback and are excited to launch this initiative. We look forward to learning from this test and continuing to innovate as we offer our customers everyday conveniences and new ways to experience our brand.”
