New – Customer Engagement Awards
The Customer Engagement Network in association with the Peer Awards for Excellence is celebrating outstanding customer engagement. All finalists will feature in a special supplement to be published in The Independent newspaper in late May, and are invited to present their entries at the Peer Awards conference in June. This conference is held at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch headquarters building in the City of London. Here they also listen to and participate in the judging of the other finalists – which is why it is called the Peer Awards.
The Customer Engagement Awards in association with the 2013 Peer Awards acknowledge initiatives in marketing, sales, customer service, external events and using technology for engagement. The 2013 Peer Awards also cover Corporate Responsibility (community, business ethics, health & wellbeing, philanthropy and sustainability & the environment) and People & Performance (coaching & development, internal communication, internal events, recruitment, talent & leadership).
Entries should focus on what you have done and why, what difference it is making in its target community, what is special about how you went about it and what you have learned from the experience. It is also important to consider why your entry would be of interest to a conference audience, and what they can take away from listening to your talk that might inspire them.

The Peer Awards are unique because it is the finalists and their peers that present and judge the entries (not an appointed panel), because they focus on the inspirational ideas behind successful initiatives (not on 'best' or 'most successful' people and projects), because they have a broad business focus (and are not limited to a single sector or profession), and because all finalists (not just the winners) gain exposure and recognition.
